Groundwork Strategies’ Co-Founder Tricia Mueller Appointed National Vice Chair of New Leaders

Congratulations to Groundwork Strategies co-founder Tricia Mueller on her appointment as national Vice Chair of the Board of New Leaders Council (NLC).

Tricia Mueller is recognized as one of the region’s best connected political insiders. She is the former National Political Director of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners in the United States, the youngest person and first woman to achieve the position. Tricia delivered strategic and tactical support in New Jersey for Obama for President (2008), McGreevey for Governor, Lautenberg, and Menendez for U.S. Senate and served as Coordinated Campaign Director for Governor Jon Corzine.

In 2016, Tricia Mueller co-founded Groundwork Strategies, a woman-owned and-operated public affairs and political consultancy firm whose mission is centered around progressive candidates and causes. Tricia Mueller managed two winning judicial campaigns, Matt Wolf (Philadelphia) and Carolyn Nichols (PA Superior Court), and is deeply invested in all her clients to ensure their success.

Tricia Mueller was named one of 101 Most Influential People in NJ by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, Top 40 Under 40 by South Jersey Magazine, and Top 20 Under 40 by South Jersey Biz. She was ranked number 35 on NJ Globe’s New Jersey Top 100 Power List in 2018 and has been listed in the top of Politicker NJ’s Power List every year since 2013.

Tricia Mueller works diligently to elevate other women to leadership positions, particularly in male-dominated union and political spheres. She has received numerous awards and repeated recognition for her focus on women’s issues and her work has been lauded by Emerge and the NJ Women’s Political Caucus.

With her appointment to the National Board of Directors of the New Leaders Council, Tricia Mueller is directly responsible for helping to shape and train the next generation of political entrepreneurs. In her new role as Vice Chair of the Board, Tricia Mueller will work with colleagues from across the country to influence and guide tomorrow’s leaders.
